One Million Men and Me

Fellow SCBWI member, Kelly Starling Lyons has a great, new picture book called ONE MILLION MEN AND ME. I particularly like this book because it takes a historic event and shows that same event through the eyes of a child. More importantly it speaks to the relationship between a father and daughter–a unique perspective from a female author. It’s a touching story and one that can be shared with children of all races and ethnicities. There is a wonderful lesson in it for all of us.
